ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่จะ End of Support เหล่านี้ จะเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ Microsoft หยุดให้บริการการออกแพตช์แก้ไขบั๊ก อุดช่องโหว่ด้านความมั่นคงปลอดภัย รวมไปถึงการสนับสนุนเชิงเทคนิคหลังการขาย Microsoft แนะนำให้ผู้ที่ยังคงใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์ดังกล่าวอัปเกรดเป็นเวอร์ชันใหม่ หรือใช้เวอร์ชันที่เป็นระบบ Cloud แทน
สำหรับบางผลิตภัณฑ์ที่อยู่ใต้โปรแกรม Extended Security Update (ESU) นั้น จะยังคงให้บริการอัปเดตด้านความมั่นคงปลอดภัยต่อไปอีก 3 ปี นับจากวันที่ End of Support สามารถติดต่อตัวแทนจำหน่ายหรือผู้จัดจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์ของ Microsoft เพื่อรับทราบข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม
