นับเป็นข่าวดีสำหรับเหล่าผู้ดูแลระบบและนักพัฒนาซอฟต์แวร์ที่อยากเรียนรู้พื้นฐานทางด้าน Linux เมื่อ Red Hat จับมือ edX เปิดคอร์สเรียนฟรี Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ขั้นพื้นฐานให้ได้เรียนกันแบบออนไลน์ โดยมีรายละเอียดดังนี้ครับ
คอร์สนี้อยู่ที่ https://www.edx.org/course/fundamentals-red-hat-enterprise-linux-red-hat-rh066x โดยเปิดให้เรียนฟรีไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย แต่หากเรียนจบแล้วอยากได้ Certificate ด้วยก็จะมีค่าใช้จ่ายอีก 99 เหรียญครับ เนื้อหาการเรียนทั้งหมดจะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษโดยวิทยากรจากทาง Red Hat เอง และใช้เวลาในการเรียน 9 สัปดาห์ แต่ละสัปดาห์ใช้เวลา 1-3 ชั่วโมงครับ
เนื้อหานั้นจะแบ่งเป็น 9 บท ซึ่งปูพื้นฐาน Linux ได้เป็นอย่างดี ดังนี้ครับ

- Chapter 6: Controlling Access to Files with Linux File System Permissions
- Chapter 7: Monitoring and Managing Linux Processes
- Chapter 8: Installing and Updating Software Packages
- Chapter 9: Comprehensive Review
